The Pioneer Who Revitalized Agriculture

"Farming is not just a profession; it is the heartbeat of our existence. When we nurture the soil with love and respect, it rewards us with abundance and hope for generations to come."
Ms. Nituben Patel
Founder Sajeevan Life
In the serene village of Atkot, nestled in Gujarat’s Jasdan Taluka, a visionary was born. Hailing from a modest farming family, Ms. Nituben Patel’s early life mirrored the struggles of countless rural households. Yet, these hardships ignited a spark within her—a determination to transform farming from a subsistence activity into a thriving enterprise.

Nituben’s journey began with an entrepreneurial spirit and an innate understanding of business, which she nurtured from a young age. She dared to reimagine agriculture, identifying five critical barriers faced by farmers:
Lack of Awareness of government schemes and subsidies. Technological Gaps in modern farming practices. Market Challenges in securing fair prices for produce. Organizational Deficiencies among farmer groups. Environmental Concerns stemming from excessive chemical use.

Rather than succumbing to these challenges, Nituben chose to lead. In 2003, she initiated grassroots movements like દાંતણ ચાવો દાંત બચાવો (Chew neem sticks, save teeth), promoting traditional practices. By 2006, her efforts expanded with the launch of Satyam Organic Mall, connecting communities with pesticide-free produce. This laid the foundation for her life’s mission—Sajeevan Organic, founded in 2018, and the Sajeevan Foundation in 2019.

Building a Movement

Under the Sajeevan banner, Nituben organized 50,000 farmers—men and women alike—into 25 Farmers Producer Companies across Gujarat, Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Maharashtra. She fostered legal and commercial compliance within these organizations, conducted rigorous capacity-building programs, and invested in vital infrastructure for organic certification, processing, and marketing.

Her work in the Dangs district of Gujarat earned it the prestigious "Organic" designation, transforming it into a model for sustainable agriculture. Sajeevan’s USDA-certified organic farm in Saurashtra became a beacon of knowledge, nurturing 200 rare medicinal herbs and training farmers in sustainable cultivation practices.

A Global Impact

Today, Sajeevan boasts over 250 product SKUs, reaching international markets like the USA, and stands as a symbol of New Bharat’s agricultural potential. Through Farmer Producer Companies, Nituben has empowered countless rural communities, providing access to organic certification, modern technology, and fair market opportunities.

A Legacy Of Hope

Nituben Patel’s unwavering dedication has inspired more than 5,000 families to embrace organic living and restored health to over 5,000 patients through herbal medicines. Her leadership extends to advisory roles with multiple organizations, promoting sustainable agriculture on a national and global scale.

Her journey is not merely a tale of personal success but a transformative movement redefining the future of agriculture. It is a call to action for all stakeholders—farmers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers—to join hands in fostering a sustainable and prosperous agricultural ecosystem.

In the story of Ms. Nituben Patel, we see the embodiment of resilience, innovation, and hope, lighting the way toward a brighter tomorrow for farmers and communities worldwide.
